A SPACE FOR THINKING, REFRESHING, AND PLAYING

The Music Space For Older Adults aims to provide a space where the elderly can demonstrate and rediscover their cognitive, social, and physical functioning. In the presence of the Music Therapist and therapeutic boundaries, the elderly can feel safe to talk about anything and express themselves through musical instruments.
Music acts as a tool in The Music Space. The Music Therapist will not force our clients to play any music if they do not want to. Even if clients choose to improvise music with the Music Therapist, they do not need to know how to play an instrument or have any musical knowledge, as music is instinctive and is an effective and direct channel for communicating emotions.
At times music can make more sense than words and musical sounds are not only very easy to produce but can easily reflect thoughts, intentions and feelings. The therapist is trained to make sense of musical communication and to respond accordingly.
The Music Space provides a non-threatening and protected atmosphere. The process of sharing, reflecting, reminiscing, expressing and music making help our clients to alleviate psychological stress, improve general health and wellbeing.
